DELOREAN REVIEWS

Welcome to The DeLorean. The purpose of this section of TMT is to highlight albums released before this year. Because let’s face it : there’s a lot of good music out there and it’s not all being released this year. With The DeLorean, we aim to : [1] help you discover new artists and genres you may have missed, [2] inspire you to listen to music historically and contextually, and [3] attempt to underscore the fluidity of music. Updated with two reviews each week, The DeLorean will cover everything from free-jazz and pop-rock to modern classical and blaxploitation soundtracks. We’ll also file reissues here, and we may even review an obvious ’classic,’ just for the hell of it. No limits. In the end, the albums we choose for The DeLorean are based purely on personal reasons, not because of its release year or because a PR firm is pushing it. This is our first real effort to share what we’ve been listening to in addition to newer releases, and we’re all very excited to relinquish our self-imposed year restriction for the sake of musical celebration.
