Slow Six
“The Night You Left New York”

Western Vinyl is set to release Slow Six’s Tomorrow Becomes You January 26. And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for… a quote from The Wire!!

Listening is like slipping into a warm aural bath…Tignor’s beguiling compositions move seamlessly through several stages of development, often ending up somewhere distant from where they appeared to be headed at the outset.

Amazing.

Radar Brothers

“Horses Warriors”

From Merge:

The Illustrated Garden is the punchiest, most lyrically direct set of songs the band has released to date. The songs are unmistakably Radar Brothers, but the Treichel/Hussey rhythm section often pushes them in unexpected directions.

Look for the album March 23 via Merge.

Bomb The Bass

“The Infinites”

From !K7:

Tim Simenon a/k/a Bomb The Bass is back with a new album (produced in collaboration with Gui Boratto) whose accomplished songwriting and sonic scope belie the spontaneity with which it came together. The title says it all: Back to Light.

The first in a campaign which sees Bomb The Bass releasing four digital singles in four months, “The Infinites” (featuring longtime Bomb The Bass collaborator Paul Conboy on vocals) is without doubt one of the standout tracks on the album. The single also features stellar remix contributions from Extrawelt, Kwesachu (Micachu & Kwes) and Mark E, essential cuts that raise the tempo and turn the melodic orginal into pure dancefloor burners.

Gorillaz

“Stylo” (feat. Mos Def & Bobby Womack)

From Rolling Stone:

Just one day after the Gorillaz were named as Coachella’s closing night headliner, “Stylo,” the first single off the cartoon band’s upcoming third album Plastic Beach, leaked out into the blogosphere. Gorillaz’s Murdoc Niccals wrote on his Twitter page, “A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole in my island! My single’s leaked! STYLO!” The first single features R&B singer Bobby Womack’s trademark croon on the chorus, as well as rapper Mos Def, who will join the Gorillaz as an animated character named “Sun Moon Stars” on Plastic Beach. “Stylo” will officially be released on January 26th, with Plastic Beach to follow on March 9th.
