♫♪  ABBI PRESS - soft thirst

soft thirst is finally here! ABBI PRESS back with that conflicting breathy internet-jazz in an insatiable way. Having dropped posthaste ep this past February, ABBI wastes no time between her Brooklyn performances quenching listeners with hydration. Or is it electrolytes? Either way, soft thirst is her first reel full length, marking at 12-tracks of swirling emotions and sounds that flutter butterflies throughout your body.

As I had mentioned — but will further expand on — ABBI PRESS has some really conflicting lyrical/vocal content, and I don’t think it’s me, but something directly intentional. There’s a lot of vocal flow that’s serenely abrupt, scattered into repetitive flows, subconscious metaphors, push-and-pull subjects, etc. It’s interesting writing and singing, considering the general thin-skinned-ness of the current generation within the URL. The entirety of soft thirst is like a gentle put down or “slam,” while maintaining a composure akin to the proper emoji text that satiates the feel of “Everything’s OK.” Oh, and the production is pretty solid and forward, yeah. Doesn’t feel mimicked or transparent, but generally complimentary to the internet-jazz feel ABBI vibing out.

Grip one of the 15 cassette-tape copies of soft thirst NOW on the ABBI PRESS Bandcamp, so scope below until it arrives on your doorstep:
