Auto Delta Time
“The Origin”

Auto Delta Time’s album Inception comes out March 13 on Acoustic Division. Stream a bunch of tracks on their soundcloud, or listen to one of my favorites below. Lots of pure synth tones and a minimal, vague italian-horror vibe.

While on a quest to find more bands to confuse with Zs and Zu, I stumbled upon Barcelona’s Za! (a name that hopefully has nothing to do with pizza), a group that creates music combining “african beats, noise, thick distortions, vocal loops, free jazz, sounds from the shepherds of Tuva, balinese polyryhtms, math rock, dadaism, and drones.” I’ve written a Dada poem in tribute:

“The Merry Barracks”

Here’s Deerhoof’s latest video. I didn’t resize it to TMT’s layout in order to preserve the purity of P4k’s original post. Seems more “authentic” or something.

Wham City’s Adventure (a.k.a. Benny Boeldt) is set to release The Lesser Known on March 22 via Carpark (TMT News). And since Wham City rules (TMT Comics), Carpark is awesome (TMT Link), and you like to do what we say (TMT Review), you should listen to “Rio” above and seriously consider including Adventure in your life. Hey, you could even catch Adventure live (TMT News). Some quotes:

“YES, YES! I’m really totally completely excited for the new Adventure album!” —Jerry Mensch, a Wham City fanatic

“Can’t wait to see Adventure live. I hear it can be a transcendent musical experience, where your soul rips apart from your body and it, you know, floats around and shit.” —Sally Johnson, random person off the street

“I’m positive I’ll listen to this album as soon as it drops!” —an acclaimed Pitchfork writer (or maybe some writer from AOL’s Spinner)

Terror Bird

“Married Woman”

Terror Bird have a new LP out on Night People called Human Culture. Check out the opening track, “Married Woman,” with its front and center piano and throwback rhythm section. It took me a few listens to get hooked on this track, but there is a certain breezy, poppy appeal to the whole thing.

C Spencer Yeh

“In The Blink Of An Eye”

The prolific and – now that he’s making pop music – diverse C Spencer Yeh will release his new songwriting 7” March 15 on De Stijl Records. But what is songwriting, man? Taking hundred year old classical tropes concerning harmonic movement and condensing them into their simplest form within a rigid, segmented structure that lasts 2 to 4 minutes and is accompanied by repeated quad-beat percussive phrases? What isn’t songwriting? I wish C Spencer would answer these questions, and many more.
