♫♪  COMOC - Painting EP

I’m new to Polish Juke. Like, it’s hard to say “No” to any type of juke. Juke is like pizza (for me, personally): there are only different flavors, and there’s really never a bad pie. Would I try Polish pizza? FUCK YEAH. Am I stoked that Polish Juke has been working hard since late 2013 and I’m just now coming around to their foot twisting game? BEYOND STOKED AND I’M IN FLAMES RIGHT NOW LISTENING TO Painting EP BY COMOC!

Now, there’s this Polish dude helping us make repairs to Grams’ house right now, and he and I don’t personally understand each other, but this relationship is similar to most musicians I cover in general, as I don’t understand how to make music, nor do I ever want to fully figure out what musicians or labels are “trying to say.” Thus, Painting EP by COMOC is a very comfortable medium within the duality of language and musical intent barriers. Although, what’s CLEARLY heard is entirely skill.

There’s no doubt COMOC has been influenced by juke legends (as the label site states: “The Polish Juke was intended to promote the Polish producers inspired by the juke and footwork music from Chicago.” These samples and cuts, collage-style by-way of precision production, and musicianship audacity not only exceeds influence, but potentially drives from cultural affiliations I’ve no understanding of, which I’m curiously infatuated with. More-so, my favorite “genre” of music is “world music,” and pointing out the modern architectural sounds of what makes “world music” is fascinating in me mind. So when I read “We would like to be a platform introducing the sound of Polish juke and footwork to the people all over the world” on the Polish Juke site, it makes me feel like there’s some real digging to do in Painting EP by COMOC.
