♫♪  DMZ - Carex Boréal

A sibling-fantasy of an only child features a younger brother jamming on crude gear on the other side of the bedroom wall in an American farmhouse. Axl Rose is on one of the walls somewhere. The older brother bangs and bangs on his side of the wall, hoping to startle his brother into intermission. To no avail. The younger one is lost, entranced by vulgar flange and the carpellary jerk-around of noise. No one else is home. The elder of the two has had more than he can take: he heads down and out to the wrap-around porch, to down lemonade and vodka and mint syrup, still near but away enough from his blood brother’s noise blasts, window-rattlers. After another glass of vodka and lemonade and no mint syrup or ice, he’s further away, down from the porch chair to the porch deck, closer to further-down drunken rabbit hole. Their neighbor over yonder hears the racket thinks we’re under attack and grabs his gun.
