“(Yes) The Border Crossed Us”
“(Yes) The Border Crossed Us,” the second single from Italian avant-punk gang TSIGOTI’s ESP-Disk Debut, Private Poverty to the Power People, is an exercise in political debauchery and a forward vocal delivery of self-restraint from Thollem Mcdonas that comes a-swingin’ right out of the gate. Behind this lies the wirey, convulsive guitars of mastermind Matteo Bennici that become the driving force of this quasi-punk anthem, while the rhythm section spends time deconstructing things down into No-Wave-esque breakdowns and pummeling, fluid drumming.

Mi Ami’s second full-length, Steal Your Face, is released April 6 via Thrill Jockey. “Cut Men” isn’t on there, but as the beautiful publicist says, “the track hints at Mi Ami’s current direction and offers up a taste of what’s to come.”
Gorilla Manor is due February 16 on Frenchkiss.
“Speak The Truth”
The 5LP box set for Dam-Funk’s Toeachizown is finally available through Stones Throw. Apparently, the set was delayed due to “a manufacturing issue” beyond the label’s control. Dam-Funk is offering this unreleased track as a present to those who were waiting for the set (as if 5LPs of material wasn’t enough).
