Two parts glossy funk and twinkling production, the Midwest Collective crew is BACK with a Vol. 5 compilation, and it’s the first to make it physically on tape! Featuring a slew of artists that you know — or are currently becoming acquainted with — Vol. 5 plays out more like an actual collective-album rather than a compilation. They’re all so in-sync with each other, but drastically different in personal-musicianship and sound that Vol. 5 on the whole is a quest begging to be taken. As well, it’s fluid in transition and feel between each track that the general arrangement of it is what creates such an organized and on-going adventurous vibe. It’s like, “This is Midwest Collective, and we’re subtly taking over your thought process.”
Having done 90% of Midwest Collective’s art throughout the ages, JohnMoProductions continues his reign as supreme designer of everything collaged and close-up. Those drips of water.
