♫♪  Purpura - “Lifeline”

Maybe it’s important to not think about anything at all. Especially when it’s necessary during down time. That’s when Pastel Voids tosses you a “Lifeline.” Dancing never felt so free falling into a spiral of parts that your body just lands into, and positions of posture that only contorts a pretzel of frenzy. It’s not that this beat is hard or heavy, but “Lifeline” brings a moisturizing perspiration that zones a bit of thought with tunneled vision and tube-like outcomes that echo like rattling change in your car’s ash tray because Pastel Voids is coming on stronger than you’d though that stereo could watt. But it’s less about wattage and more about clarity of how much you can withstand. So listen to Pastel Voids’ “Lifeline” below for about an hour on repeat (like I did, but for three hours), and gradually get to that IDGAF-let’s-dance atmosphere. It’s right here:

“”Body Codes’ was busily written and prepared over the course of a week leading up to the live performance from which this recording comes. These pieces, which can be approached either individually or as a non-stop, dynamic composition, are about our fleeting attempts to level up toward more tolerable climes, or eventually out of our personal hells—applying various slivers of recontextualized memories and horrors that deteriorate into sand with every fledgling attempt made to hold on to them. While imperfect, this collection represents punishment, relief, and contentment. At the time, it had been a while since I’d prepared something with such excitement and inspiration. This performance was recorded live at Lightbox in Portland, OR in the company of Patricia Hall, Wav Fuzz, Person Of Interest, and Gabe Sauer on 9/6/15. Audio was captured by Dane Overton. Special thanks to Chloe and Dane.”
