♫♪  Rambow - Rmx Pack 2k15

Rambow is back and state-side, clubbers. Boii did a bit of that UK grind last month, turn’t the heat in “DECLINE 2k15 LIVE MIX RADAR RADIO,” and how he already planning for the warm weather with “Rmx Pack 2k15.” Consisting of tracks “Throw Away (Rambow 2k15 Eclipse)” and “Moletoso (Rambow Rmx)” (including a bonus track if YOU CLICK HERE AND DOWNLOAD THEM ALL), the timbre Rambow uses for his sounds are remarkable. In “Moletoso (Rambow Rmx),” there’s (potentially) a cellphone vibrating in rythm, the “Allo” from Hello, Motto phones, a foreign language flare, and it almost sounds like a lot of these drum sounds are blown out, as if whoever is playing them hasn’t tuned/tightened them for years. “Throw Away (Rambow 2k15 Eclipse)” is perfect for that hip-hop to club transition using the Future track from 2014 in a 2k15 Eclipse — which is literally LAWLZ in itself — with respect for the lyrical content while focusing on the movement of the music.

Other than the fact that ALL the Swim Team crew are all pretty hilarious and clever, each in their own regard, Rambow will be helping bring home his noise to NYC, as this Friday will be the crew’s first event together like this in the city at Happy Ending. In 2010, I was standing around Sara D Roosevelt Park waiting for a drop while Philip Seymour Hoffman was low-key filming a movie behind me, and to my front: Happy Ending. I’d never heard of it before, but it looked sketchier than me lingering in the park for three hours around-past midnight. Red velvet rope. Giant bouncers. Shitty plastic and cracked massage parlor awning and signage. It was club. It was Chinatown. It’s where Swim Team is taking over Happy Ending for the night, so the door will be extremely strict (as they don’t have control over it) so y’all be there at the stroke of ten, or find yourself sanding around Sara D Roosevelt Park for the night.

Hot below by Rambow. Fire this Friday at Happy Ending.
