Chocolate Grinder Mix 38
"CoolCrazyCoolSexyCoolCoolCool"

I make no secret of the fact that I’m a complete bass addict. Sure, I still get down to Kraftwerk, Bruce Haack, and all that electronic music produced before the subwoofer became standard, but there’s something different about bass. It’s a more visceral experience, fizzing up your beer and pounding your chest into dust. That doesn’t mean bass-heavy music can’t be intelligent, though, and I believe this mix shows you can satisfy the brain and the guts at the same time. You’ll definitely want to keep your eyes on Kanji Kinetic. “New Era” is one of the most massive bangers of 2010, and great things are sure to follow from him if/when he puts out a full-length.

Josephine Foster & The Victor Herrero Band

“Anda Jaleo”

TMT favorite Josephine Foster and Spanish musician Victor Herroro have teamed to release a live rendition of Las Canciones Populares Espanolas, a collection of songs from 1931 by Federico Garcia Lorca that were originally banned by Franco’s dictatorship. The album is due November 2 on Fire Records, the label that also released this year’s fantastic Graphic as a Star (TMT Review).

Katy Perry's cleavage

“Hot n Cold” [duet with Elmo]

While Katy Perry’s boobs got her “Hot n Cold” video kicked off Sesame Street, they somehow traveled (jiggled?) through time and space and ended up in the Chocolate Grinder. As someone with microscopic tits, I’m really offended by this video.

CHOCOLATE GRINDER is our audio/visual section, a place where we can share new music before critical reflection and social pressures fully shape our conceptions of it. We aim to dig deep, but we'll post any song or video we find interesting, big or small.
