♫♪  The Flag - Heat Waves

The atmosphere of Geographic North’s LP Heat Waves by The Flag is intense. It’s totally pliable to the sounds fluxing in and out. And as I am a nonchalant denier of trying to understand lyrics (mostly because I don’t like people telling me what to do and I believe the message is the music) the vocal sound itself is so matched with the gripping instrumentals that pair and blend, that it’s sometimes hard to tell where the human begins and the machine blends. And frankly, I’d pair Heat Waves to a good stretching of a recent Zs show, pairing tribal-esque drumming with formulations of electronic mending that’s driven by a focal melody (Zs with sax; The Flag with singing). There’s an intensity in Heat Waves that actually emits an air-controlled feel that is just as punk as it is noise and general sound experimentation.

Vinyls like Heat Waves really put your cartridge to full use too. They’ve the minimal sounds and maximal compositions. Vexed eyes, black in the heart of melody, deep enough for that needle to get right down to the LP Core of The Flag. Bare bones will always flay the reality of man, and Geographic North found the right grooves for your Heat Waves moves. It was independence day Saturday. Wave The Flag below and feel it outwardly by snagging yourself a copy of the new LP today!
