♫♪  The Garment District - “Weird Birds and Strange Days”

Riding free on that wave of sunshine, The Garment District (a.k.a. Jennifer Baron and friends and family) continues to prove If You Take Your Magic Slow is as timeless as it ever was. Happily, Michael Maraden’s newest video for “Weird Birds and Strange Days” is evidence that good things come to those who wait. Lush with technostalgicolor images, from nature to human to the interaction of both, Maraden matches the intermission-turned-adventure track “Weird Birds and Strange Days” with retro images akin to a lot of other visuals fronted by Baron, complimenting the musicians and their lead’s personal visual artistry. As well as pairing the track’s bizarre background sounds between the glimmering jingles with quick clippings of faces jeering and smiling, laughing and talking with their mouths full.

“Weird Birds and Strange Days” popped on the 2014 Night People release of The Garment District’s If You Take Your Magic Slow. The whole album is a quest for finding the alchemy with a tinge of patience, and a heck of a lot of repeats. And a walking quality to the pace and meanderings of the songs atmospheres the perfect travel music while taking the shoe-leather express into town. So nod your way from the video and onto the golden Night People label page to grup you a copy of the LP after feeling out some more “Weird Birds and Strange Days” below:
