♫♪  HATY HATY - High As The Sun

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve about had it up to HERE with things that aren’t BLENDED. Single-origin coffee? Too damned expensive. Vanilla ice cream and Oreo cookies eaten separately? Complete waste of time and energy. Warped pop music that’s not SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED with skittering electronica? Pshaw.

Luckily, thanks to recent advances in the areas of modern music and consumerism, now we can all purchase our way out of that third atrocity just as readily as we can pony-up for the first two (whew!).

Introducing HATY HATY, a “sophisticated blend,” one might say, between two “critically acclaimed” Dutch artists—producer David Douglas and singer Blaudzun. After releasing a few singles and videos over the past few months, the two longtime friends and collaborators are finally unleashing their new album in-full on Friday March 11 on V2/Atomnation. It’s called High As The Sun, and it finds the the pair blending snappy electro-drum kits, Space Echo warbles, and Blaudzun’s smooth croon together like a couple of veteran Starbucks baristas with a frappuccino machine.

But check this out—because they know that it’d be just as interminable to have to wait over 24 hours for this album to come-out as it would be to have to wait over 24 hours for a delicious Oreo Blizzard once you got your mind around one, the good dudes of HATY HATY have gone ahead and thrown the album open for your streaming pleasure a little early! Check it out in its entirety down below. Who knows? Perhaps it’ll inspire you to “blend” a few other things together that you formerly thought you had no choice but to endure separately… Income taxes and bachelor parties? Calisthenics and bubble baths? Anything goes, really.
