Just as I’m finishing the general administration to this post, I find Jeff Zagers’ website a little offensive, as my fiancee’s name is Savannah, but I scoped it out (you can TOO below), and it’s only comprised of two posts, one is a link to his Soft Science Records release Chu’s Musings Trill and the video Noisey premiered a few days ago. Now, we get another taste of Zagers from this coming March 17 Still/Alive LP entitled, “A Nimbus.” Focused more on the instrumentation than the vocals, most of this track hazes in a cloud of lingering instruments building together in a woozy linger of notes employed in harmony-ish, clouding the air with growing thought, and suddenly: the vocals kick. And they sway as the instruments melted together previously, swirling in and out of the jax tones, bass, and light-smacking snare. Visions of hooded evenings walking in the cold, warming yourself to the sounds of “A Nimbus” become the new bear skin rugged fireplace setting. Jeff Zagers just invited you. So snag that new Still/Alive LP off Wharf Cat Records ASAP and inhale “A Nimbus” streaming below:
