♫♪  Saffron - “Yalla (Moksa)”

House music has never been this jazz; visuals of night-drive drifting shift down to trip up the hop over protruding railroad tracks. Stagnant smoke clouds the car-roof’s interior. Like the ocean’s tide, “Yalla (Moksa)” by Saffron gives the predictability factor a bit of the old “Is the water rolling in or out?” Trying to assume what you’ll experience on the highway, watching the shoreline, will be equal parts a surprise and borderline accident. Yet, the calm bombastics of “Yalla (Moksa)” eases any tension by-way of trickery. Creating a swarm of sounds, but all equalized in a way that makes one feel like interruption from the outside world is the only thing misplaced sound in the track.

New York-based producer and texture collector Saffron (formerly Spirit Guide), is releasing a double cassette on 1080p of two EPs, Petra I and Petra II, while both work as two different timelines of music. Personally, I’m stoked because I’ve reeled all c80 minutes of Sarah’s Rocks so much that the tape is getting funky now, which happens to long burners. And I love that, especially with Kitkkola. But Saffron is a bit different, and the sounds are much more leveled and minimal, so separating the two tapes will make these EPs last for a good-long time. Count on it. March 25 on 1080p.
