♫♪  Cole - “Wet Angel”

Take some fucking notes, you nu-R&B dickheads: Cole just made the move to evolve. He doesn’t sound like he’s copying some asshole that has their name trademarked (a.k.a. R. Kelly, a.k.a. FKA Twigs, a.k.a. Weeknd). Although, there’s definitely [slight] influence in his newest CD, Edging on Brooklyn’s unfolding new label Sweat Equity, but no doubt stems from a creative route, than one perpetuated by imitation. Like, if Prince decided to make a bunch of important changes, went 100% solo, and cracked a little more filthy.

Take, for example, Cole’s newest “~ Wet Angel ~” video. Much like seeing Bruce Willis’ dingy in Color of Night, Cole is not only fearless in his artistic intention (lyrics), but on-point with visual articulation and of his body (specifically his mouth, considering). But what’s really wonderful (musically) is that drop in the middle, as the song is some-what short, it seems to reboot/-mind itself mid-way that THIS SHIT AIN’T OVER. And we’re all looking forward to more. For now, scope Cole’s “~ Wet Angel ~” video above, and find Edging on CD via Sweat Equity in the Bandcamp embedding below (after clicking play, duh):
