Eventually, humans will just begin fucking and reproducing as avatars in virtual reality. Instead of heading to the club on Friday, just chillin’ in a chair at home, eye-to-screen’d out visuals (sound familiar?), totally strapped in, call someone IRL on a 3-D cellphone [image] via wifi, dance with them for a bit, and go home. Fuck and get a virtual baby (if they’re the opposite sex), and then someone always has to be around or this baby dies in the 3-D realm, as well as work, afford a house, and take virtual anxiety medicine. Then you’ll just have to give up on virtual life if that baby dies because there must be punishment, which is imprisonment, and maybe you’ll meet someone real having sold the VR suit and given up? I believe this is not only what The Great Void is getting at in their newest video for “Shift Age” (off the Olde English Spelling Bee album… Shift Age), but lyrically as well. If I’m interpreting it correctly.
