♫♪  Purple Pilgrims - “Forever”

Not Not Fun is always dropping the dopest internationally sought-out music. Take Purple Pilgrims for example: raised in Hong Kong and on New Zealand’s South Island, moved to the North Island after the Christchurch earthquake of 2011, and eventually returned to China. There is where they began performing music together, and eventually got boosted as Euro and American tour mates with Yek Koo, Gary War and Ariel Pink. Now, out on Not Not Fun next Friday, is their newest album Eternal Delight featuring the single (video above), “Forever.”

Recorded in a shed surrounded by native palms and birds of Tapu (on the western side of the Coromandel Peninsula of NZ), Eternal Delight is the development of swooning, processional pop that choirs like a peaceful ritual Purple Pilgrims (potentially/subjectively) put on during their practice, development, and recording of these 10-tracks. Reflected in “Forever,” Purple Pilgrims calls to mind Not Not Fun recent favorites such as Babylon, She Knows More Than She Thinks, and Regional Curse, keeping that harkening flame lit with folk-pop beauty that’s undoubtedly throughout Eternal Delight. Listen above and find the new Purple Pilgrims album on Not Not Fun Feb. 26!
