♫♪  The Rhythm Method - “Party Politics”

At 28, soon to be 29, I’m not all that concerned with my age. Many singers my age use aging as the go to for making a “personal” statement. Most of the time rote lyrics speak of “responsibility,” “confusion” and, ultimately, “acceptance” that the party’s fucking over when you hit 30. Admit it, as you read this you’re finalizing your Sunday brunch plans, knowing which place will have the bottomless mimosas and farmer’s market scramble. Just when my late 20s cynicism has kicked into full throttle, “Party Politics” comes along and blows me away. It makes me think back on a lot of fun times in college without the schmaltz and, best of all, the song is super catchy and super good. Once you’ve listened a few times and picked up on key lines such as “I hope tonight never ends, but I hope one day it does,”and “Welcome to the peter pan generation, and we’re all captain hooked,” hopefully you’ll get what I’m blabbing about.

The Rhythm Method only has three tracks out right now, so here’s hoping we hear more.
