The Finger We Are Fuck You/Punk’s Dead Let’s Fuck

[One Little Indian; 2003]

Rating: 4/5

Styles: punk rock
Others: Black Flag, The Misfits, Minor Threat

This CD is, pure and simple, pissed-off punk rock. Playful like mainstream so-called punk rock exhibitionists Blink 182 it is not.  In fact, if I were mistaken I might tell you the sound bears an uncanny resemblance to pissed-off punk rock outfit Black Flag, a band Ryan Adams and Jesse Malin have never cited as influences/favorites. If you like constant screaming, loud guitars, immature and obnoxious song titles like "Punk's Dead Let's Fuck," this may be your album. Fans of Ryan Adams, so-called alt.country singer/songwriter who is reportedly not on WAFU/PDLF, say this album is great for fucking, whether punk is dead or not. The girls at TMT reportedly hope that those fans' partners are Realdolls and not real girls. Jesse Malin, who also does not appear on the album, has reportedly not discussed the CD's merits and similarity to old Black Flag records. TMT assistant editor, Leah, who has reportedly not heard the album and reportedly refers to herself in third person, conjectures that the album would be fun to break stuff to.  If she heard the album, Leah would probably say that the only bad thing about the CD is the length of the songs, which she guesses is too short.
