Apocalypse draws ever nearer... but Bill Callahan is confident he'll be around afterward for a tour

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the world’s going to end in 2012 — we’ve heard it all before. Well, Bill Callahan just couldn’t wait that long, so Apocalypse — the next album from ex-(Smog) singer/songwriter/novelist (Letters to Emma Bowlcut) — is officially out on April 5 from Drag City — as opposed to the original April 19 date. But you, diligent TMT reader that you are, mostly knew that already. What comes next, you ask? After the brimstone cools and the voices of the damned arise from the rubble, Bill Callahan will go on tour!

This will be the first — and likely only — time that we can sincerely call a Bill Callahan tour post-apocalyptic. On April 10, he gives a book reading (old news), but by June, he’ll move up the West Coast and across the rest of America to support Apocalypse. Don’t worry, this trip will probably have very little to do with The Road, though there may be some pretty lousy traffic.
