The Apples in Stereo's Robert Schneider constructs a synthesizer he can control with his mind, and you can too!

We proud newswriters here at TinyMicksTapes.net have a reputation for composing jocular headlines meant to amuse as well as inspire contempt. But rest assured, dear readership, that what you see above is no misguided TMT headline jape — Robert Schneider (this one, not that one) has indeed constructed an EEG-controlled synthesizer.

Dubbed the Teletron, the new instrument combines a vintage Realistic MG-1 synthesizer with a Mattel Mindflex toy that allows Schneider to control the synth’s pitch with his own math-stuffed mind. If all that sounds too simple, it’s because it is. According to Schneider, anyone with a synthesizer and the ability to mod a control voltage output plug into a Mindflex can produce a Teletron. Hell, he even made a step-by-step modding instruction video just to make construction that much easier.
