Baltimore classic rock/indie Americana four-piece Arbouretum are about to release their sixth studio album for Thrill Jockey. Song of the Rose is out March 24; no fragments of the LP have been made public yet, but you can pre-order it here.
Led by singer and guitarist Dave Heumann (who’s enjoyed a successful solo career of his own), Arbouretum have been consistently refining their sludgy, folk-tinged, and semi-improvised jams for almost 15 years now. Song of the Rose was recorded over several weeks with the help of producer Steve Wright and mixed by Kurt Vile associate Kyle Spence in Athens, GA.
