Oh, Band of Horses. I tried for so long to play you off like you were just another indie band, one of those big touring acts that everyone in town falls over themselves for, but not me, because I’m all edgy, all “don’t believe the hype” (or whatever I’m all like). And then you release “Laredo,” the lead single from your most recent album on Columbia, Infinite Arms (TMT Review) — the video of which makes its iTunes debut on July 13 — and my heart’s all aflutter with your haunting, melancholy Southern rock harmonies.
Fortunately, my heart and yours (along with the rest of our organs, hopefully, and a plaid shirt or two, just for good measure) can flutter their way down to one of Band of Horses’ summer tour stops in the USA before the group departs for Japan, Australia, Europe and the U.K., eventually returning to the States in September.
