Hey America! The Black Lips wanna party witchu! The good-time garage rockers have already charted a course across a wide swath of the USA (and a tiny swath of Canada) with their April tourmates, Vivian Girls, and now — for the good people of the West Coast — they’re adding some very special dates with the very special New York punk group Cerebral Ballzy.
But this isn’t just any ol’ tour extension. Oh no! The Black Lips are comin’ atcha straight off of spending time in the studio with magical producer Mark Ronson, and during the June leg of the tour, they’ll be showcasing material from the Vice Records album they recorded together. That’s cool, right? I mean, Ronson has done production for Amy Winehouse and made a few spiffy tunes of his own. BUT check this out: he has also worked with Busta Rhymes and Duran Duran! That’s like one degree of separation between Black Lips and Busta Buss. And that’s awesome.
