Bleached mooches amp off The Kinks to record For the Feel EP, rock wins in the process

Bleached run the risk of coming across as pretty unprofessional. Sure, their tunes are all hazy-blissed-out-summer-perfection, but for the recording of their forthcoming For the Feel EP, the Clavin sisters apparently turned up to the studio without an amp, which, if you know much about rock & roll, is kind of essential to the process. Luckily for them (and now us) they had The Kinks’ (yes, THE Kinks) on speed dial and were able to borrow their amp.

You can listen to the title track below and then compare the amp tone to that of “Waterloo Sunset”. Once you’ve done that, come back and try and tell me that it’s not the same amp.

For the Feel is released digitally on July 22 (i.e. perfectly timed for summer) and the 7-inch will be available September 16 through Dead Oceans. The cover art is above, and the first thing you’ll probably notice is that it looks to be about 1:30 PM by the way those shadows are cast.

Bleached are also totally thinking about possibly touring extensively soon, but for the time being they are playing two shows in California:

06.27.14 - Los Angeles, CA - Echoplex #
08.02.14 - Santa, CA - The Observatory - Burger a-Go-Go! $

# Zig Zags
$ Best Coast, Dum Dum Girls, Shannon & The Clams, The Coathangers
