Bonnie "Prince" Billy documentary to be released via Kickstarter campaign

As far as I’m concerned, there are two types of people in the world: people who love Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and people who haven’t heard him yet. Depending on which side of the BPB divide you sit on, you may or may not be aware of the fact that Bonnie “Prince” Billy and the Cairo Gang undertook a whistle stop tour in September 2014 around The Netherlands, where they played in a number of intimate and ornate venues, such as a Baptist church in Utrecht.

Thankfully, the Bonnie Prince allowed filmmaker Simo Valley to film the whole tour on the condition that it was a “fusion” documentary that focused on the towns and venues as well as the music.

Now the moment is nigh and the documentary, conveniently titled Royal Dutch Tour Documentary, has been edited and is ready to be enjoyed by all those in column A and to convert all those in column B of the BPB divide.

Due to the fact that the film is entirely self-funded, Simo Valley has started a Kickstarter campaign to try and recoup some of her costs, which aren’t exactly as indulgent as the budget of a James Cameron film. This being the case, the only way you will be able to watch Royal Dutch Tour Documentary when it is released in December will be by donating to the Kickstarter here.

A donation of £20 or more will score you the stream and download of the film, and you can pay additional amounts to score access to bonus performances by Bonnie “Prince” Billy from each stop on the tour. You can also pay £500 to get the whole shebang plus your name in the credits, if that sort of thing floats your boat.

So now for all the Bonnie “Prince” Billy completists, the goal posts have been moved forward… again.
