Bright Eyes to keep on touring until pigs fly and parallel lines converge

Bright Eyes have been on quite the resurgence of late; some might say it’s because of their latest album on Saddle Creek, The People’s Key (TMT Review), but I think it’s because emo never dies. Actually, I think it’s because Conor Oberst and His Obersts have a serious love for the road and, frankly, you’ll see that the proof is in the pudding when I tell you that Oberst and Bright Eyes have extended their already-lengthy tour into September (the year’s sexiest month), and if my divining skills are correct, it’ll go much longer than that. *

“Yes, we will be touring until pigs fly,” Oberst said in an imaginary statement as I brainstormed ideas for this news story, “We’ll be on the road forever, forever, the last record was great, no one saw it coming, and this shirt I’m wearing is really comfortable. What else do I need? We’ll be touring until the end of time and we’ll just keep riding this unstoppable wave until the very foundations of time crumble beneath it, or at least until September.”
