A Classic Education ready Hey There Stranger EP on Lefse, think about college options for the future

A classic education. Greek, Latin; Herodotus, the Socratic method, Euclidian geometry. Things aren’t quite the same these days. A classic education is now a little Canadian, a lot of Italian, and they’ve given up Aristotle’s logic for Lefse, which is set to release A Classic Education’s new EP, Hey There Stranger in the US on September 21.

Okay, enough academic mumbo jumbo. These Bolognese boys have been working their way up since 2009, when Holiday Records released their single “What My Life Could Have Been” b/w “Toi” (a free download from Holiday: a poppy, up-tempo musing followed by a 60s sashaying cover of Gilbert Bécaud). Singles are all fine and good, but a band can only go so far with free downloads and 7-inches (Best Coast managed for a while, but we got restless, if you will remember), and ACE’s first 12-inch EP (First EP) only had content on one side. Still, the promise is there, and in the meantime, nobody’s complaining about free downloads (download the opening track from Hey There Stranger here).
