Crooked Fingers ask fans to set aside their dreams to help fund their new covers EP

I want you to imagine the sort of things you buy all the time: toilet paper, coffee, Netflix subscriptions, blackmarket kidneys. Now, I want you to think about what would happen if you took all of that and were just, like, “Fuck it! I wanna put my money to some good use, something that I’ll have to show my grandcats and tell that that ‘I was a part of this piece of art.’” Well, if you contribute to Crooked Fingers’ new fan-funded covers EP, that toilet-paper-less dream could become a reality.

That’s right: Eric Bachmann of Crooked Fingers/Archers of Loaf is releasing the Reservoir Songs Volume II EP on July 6 — with your help, of course. Bachmann plans on covering Merle Haggard, Thin Lizzy, and The Kinks this time around. The EP will be a vinyl- and download-only release from the Foreign Leisure label. Interested parties can visit Kickstarter for more information. And check out his cover of John Hartford’s “Gentle on My Mind” at the Chocolate Grinder if you need some enticement.
