Cross Record joins the Ba Da Bing! family, releases one album and readies another for 2014

Cross Record is the newest member of the (ever-growing) Ba Da Bing! family, and like any good family member would, the label will be reissuing Emily Cross’s debut record. Originally released in a small run of 300 LPs on Lay Flat Records, Be Good acted as the debut full-length after a handful of digital releases through Bandcamp. Ba Da Bing will be distributing the last remaining copies of the LP version of the album (it comes on white wax with a poster insert), as well as releasing Be Good on CD for the first time.

Emily Cross, it turns out, sent her music to Ba Da Bing’s office after seeing label rostermates Lady Lamb the Beekeeper and Xenia Rubinos play live in Chicago. The folks over at Ba Da Bing liked it so much they not only agreed to re-release the first album but will also be putting out the forthcoming follow-up. See kids, dreams still can come true.

There’s a video for the track “Maybe I’m Crazy” featuring a lot of upside-down fun. You can check it over at Vimeo, or, for your convenience, right under this sentence:
