Daft Punk's new album arriving in less than two months, titled Random Access Memories because... computers

Daft Punk is back, y’all! Did it seem like Daft Punk never really left? Somehow, perhaps through the sheer power of Discovery, it seems like the band continued to capture the public’s imagination despite not releasing any albums since 2005. Well, they did put out the soundtrack for that boring Tron movie. And some of the population may be pretending that they haven’t put out any records since 2001. Anyway, the point is, Daft Punk are back and, as Pitchfork reports, they are actually putting out a new record and that record is called Random Access Memories and that record will be out May 21.

Oh, hello. I see you’re still here. Perhaps you’re waiting for me to share more information about Daft Punk’s fourth album. Well, sorry sugar, there’s not a lot to share. I can tell you that it’s coming out through Daft Life Limited, the group’s imprint on Columbia Records. I can also tell you that you can pre-order the record on iTunes, where the record is listed as having 13 tracks, or in physical formats, where the record is listed as costing $39.98. Other than that, the only scrap of information I have for you is this commercial for the record. It is very brief and tells you nothing you don’t already know, but it does contain a snippet of music, presumably from the record. This music sounds like Daft Punk.
