Dead Meadow reunite with original drummer, rock out in California and Australia

There comes a time in every band’s life when the words “reunion tour” take on a shining, new allure, when a long-lost drummer returns to music from the scholarly clutches of law school and the group decides to set forth on a series of reunion shows in California and Australia. For psych rockers Dead Meadow, that time is now. Original drummer Mike Laughlin is back with guitarist/vocalist Jason Simon and bass player Steve Kille, in his first appearance with the group since 2002.

Dead Meadow are hot off a successful US and European tour, and now, reunited at last, the group will continue on to their upcoming Cali/Australia dates in support of the recent Xemu Records reissue of the group’s first two albums, 2000’s self-titled LP and 2001’s Howls from the Hills, as well as this spring’s dual DVD/LP release Three Kings (TMT Review).
