The Dead Weather is a “super-group” that a couple of friends and I came up with after soccer practice one day at our high school. See, we’re all kinda involved in some pretty kewl rock ‘n’ roll bands already that a lot of the girls (even the varsity ones!!!:) :) :)!!!!) seemed pretty in 2 (Mine is called The Turpentine Stains; u should check us out on MySpace 4 sure). But there was this sophomore anti-drug Lock-In coming up, and there was only time for one of our bands to play at it. So my bro Lonnie (who plays kick-ass bass riffs in The Casket Bastards) suggested we all come 2-gether and form a big-ass party band for the occasion.
For the lock-in, we mostly played our favorite Blink songs, but after that, we started writing all this crazy original stuff, and before we knew it, it was Junior year, and we had an album out on Third Man Records (my uncle Larry’s label). I know, right? Craziness. Our parents weren’t so in 2 the idea at 1st… but then they saw this kick-ass show we did at The X-treme Bean Coffee Shop opening up for this college band The Vermin Turds, and they kinda realized that we had something way kewl going on (finally!).
Anyway, now me and my friends are all about to graduate next week. So we’re taking this thing on the road before we all split up and attend different colleges. On May 11, my uncle is putting out our new album, Sea of Cowards, and we’re going to go on our first real tour of the US this summer!!! (btw, u can check out the video for our single on my uncle’s site right now). First we’re doing this fest in Tennessee, and then we’re, like, hitting up every city in America starting this July! Seriously can’t wait. This summer is going 2 rule.
