Supplementing the tunes that have eternally satiated our desire for organic-sounding electronic music, it’s no wonder journalists love him: Four Tet has an official list of presumably all of his previous performances up on his website, dating back to 2003. We’d have to put in a request to the world’s intelligence agencies to get a more detailed rundown of Kieran Hebden’s location over the past 13 years, and frankly, I don’t know who in their right mind would be that interested in knowing his preferred Sunday brunch spot. IHOP seems to skew American, despite its proclaimed (and actual) international presence, so maybe you’ll coincidentally find him at a location in one of the cities listed below. I mean, everybody has time for pancakes.
It’s quite an extensive North American tour that Four Tet has recently announced, and judging by the aforementioned exhaustive self-tracked list of performances, it doesn’t seem like he’s done something of a similar scale on the continent in a fairly long time. The collective trip this year begins in April, and most of the dates are DJ sets, with the exception of May 6 and 8, which will be full-on performances of Four Tet’s material. The Los Angeles date on April 30 is likewise a special one, in that the Shrine Expo Center is hosting a six-hour “DJ night,” featuring (in addition to Four Tet) Floating Points, Daphni (a.k.a. Dan Snaith/Caribou), Madlib, and Ben UFO.
Why not listen to Morning/Evening as a prelude to the multiple mornings and evenings Hebden will be spending across the Atlantic?
