With the decidedly goth ambition of wanting to sound like a ghost, Gracie has assembled a group of people who can actually play instruments to record an album of melodic guitar jams with a downer bent — or in her own words, “bummer jams.”
As depressing as the material is in both sound and subject, Gracie has already failed in her ambition to sound like a dead thing, for the simple fact that her lead single “Jesse” off her album, which will be called Gracie and released via Ghost Ramp on September 18, totally brims with life and is kind of uplifting via some bizarre trick of fate. Depression never sounded so good.
