People have opinions about Vancouver’s Grimes. So many opinions! A lot of people really like her, but some people? They don’t like her so much. Somewhere in between, there exist other opinions. Where’d all these opinions come from? Answer: mostly from the release of Visions (TMT Review), an album whose release put Tiny Mix Tapes solidly in the “like” section of human beings. We have strong, solid opinions, because we are strong, solid people.
For the remainder of the year, Grimes is doing an enormous amount of touring. One would assume, her audience will consist mostly of people with positive Grimes-related opinions. I mean, I guess some people who don’t like her might go see her, but that’s kind of dumb. Granted, fans of her soon-to-be-tourmates Skrillex and Diplo might not be into her. Too busy throwing their limbs everywhere, punching ghosts and whatnot. Or perhaps they’re fans of Myths or Elite Gymnastics, since she’s heading out on a tour dubbed The Mythical Gymnastics Tours. DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THAT NAME WORKS? You should. This is a tour that makes sense, with positive opinions flying toward all the groups involved. Watch out, Grimes, you’ll get hit by all those feelings!
