When I think of Harvey Milk, my thoughts first turn to Sean Penn’s role as the first openly gay politician, not the sludge-metal band from Athens, Georgia. Unfortunately, Sean Penn did not contribute to their new album, A Small Turn of Human Kindness, due out May 18 on Hydra Head.
