Hausu Mountain announces new tape batch featuring Roped Off and Jeremy Bible vs. Mousecop, out March 31

Uh oh. I thought I was alone on this rooftop. Turns out I’m not. Turns out Hausu Mountain (a label run in part by TMT writer Mukqs) is up here, stalking around, hocking tapes, yelling into a megaphone about “batches of tapes” as if tapes were cookies. (What was I expecting? It’s happened before.) Lemme post up behind this here AC unit and I’ll offer up a summary of what it is that’s streaming forth.

Ok. So turns out Hausu Mountain’s got two new tapes slotted to come out the end of this month, March 31 to be exact. The first one’s from Roped Off, and it’s called Are Waiting for Your Challenge!!. “Who is Roped Off?” you ask. Oh you know, just Mike Haley and Dave Doyen from everybody’s fave tape podcast (and TMT collaborator, and Hausu Mountain coverer) Tabs Out. It’s two side-long live jams mixing up modular synth sounds with “vintage 8-bit textures.” Slam “This is a Story of True Victory” into your ear canal below.

The second tape is Jeremy Bible vs. Mousecop and it’s a collaborative release from, you got it, Jeremy Bible and Mousecop. Bible is the Ohio-based founder of Experimedia, and Curt Brown and Joshua Novak of Mousecop run Rubber City Noise in Akron. Sputtering percussion, wobbly synth attacks, and wails of guitar (I think it’s guitar?!) keep on trying to swallow each other all at once across the length of this one. Peep an excerpt of “Initiation Well” from the tape below. You can grab both releases, either individually or as a package deal, from the Hausu Mountain web store right here.
