How to Dress Well to maybe actually tell us how to dress well on upcoming new album

I struggle with my wardrobe on a daily basis. No matter how confident I try to be in my look, certain doubts always swim through my head. Do brown and blue really match? Will people care about the weird bleach stain on the right knee of these jeans? If I wear this t-shirt, will strangers acknowledge that it is clever without trying to actually engage me in conversation? Does this billowy sweater make me look too much like a stick insect standing inside a cloud?

Fortunately, there is Tom Krell and the music he makes under the moniker How to Dress Well. And while Krell has yet to actually reveal the secret inherent in his project’s name, I am certain his new album Care will finally be the album where he lays out for me exactly how to dress well.

You know what? Let’s check in on new single “Lost Youth / Lost You.” Maybe it lays out some basic ground rules for when it’s appropriate to wear a blazer.

Hmm, this really seems to be just an emotional song about love. You know, if I can be honest, I’m kind of starting to doubt if I will ever learn how to dress well from How to Dress Well…

That’s only one song though, right? Yeah, I just need to keep the faith, hold out hope that when Care is released on September 23 via Weird World/Domino, all my emotionally crippling clothing-centric anxieties will be abated.

Check out Care’s artwork and tracklist, as well as How to Dress Well’s upcoming tour dates, below.
