Danish love farmers Iceage are back at it again with their recently announced and latest full-length LP record album Plowing into the Field of Love. It’s out October 7 on Matador, a date that is no doubt associated with some form of grain harvesting or reaping or tractor repair. Plowing into the Field of Love, following 2011’s New Brigade (a reference to the popular European barn construction agency, New Brigade Barns) and 2013’s You’re Nothing (as in, “you’re nothing without farmers; farmers are the backbone of society”), finds the band at the peak of their musical husbandry game, cultivating an entire barnyard of new instrumentation including piano, mandolin, viola, and organ to complement their grain silo rattling in a wind-storm punk sound.
The album is available for pre-order now over on the Matador website as well as via Amazon and iTunes. The band has released videos for two of the album’s songs: “Forever,” and “The Lord’s Favorite,” both of which are embedded below. These two tracks will also come as an immediate download with all pre-orders through Amazon and iTunes. And! Just as soon as the band can find someone to feed and milk their metaphorical cows, they’ll be hitting the road for a several-months-long international tour. Details below.
