Inga Copeland (Lolina) eschews party blowers despite surprise tour starting TONIGHT in NY, releases new track "Fake Bond"
Relaxin' takin' a back seat to tourin'.

Avant-pop noise wrangler Inga Copeland’s Live In Paris, released under her Lolina moniker, was tangibly one of our (and my) favorite releases of 2016. I’ll never forget how its initial video unveiling was presented without much elaboration, as Lolina’s being surrounded by a digitally-projected Monopoly board led to outlandish theories about what her game-piece preferences might be. (We had nothing substantial to do but watch the video at that point — which was before CD, vinyl, and digital releases of Live In Paris were officially announced — so really, it was only natural that we started to wonder if there were any feelings on the recent iron/cat switch, for instance.)

Anyway! Thankfully, some time has passed…and Inga/Lolina has uploaded another video for us all to quibble over via Vimeo. The new clip doubles as music for the new track “Fake Bond” and as an announcement of a short April tour, which begins tonight (April 6) at the Knitting Factory in New York. New Yorkers: that means you’re dismissed early from this news post. Gogogogogo! The rest of you, check out the entire list of dates below, and I’ll leave the far-ranging theories about “whether/when this’ll all lead to another proper release” to other listeners.

Lolina live dates:

04.06.17 - New York, NY - The Knitting Factory
04.08.17 - Detroit, MI - El Club
04.11.17 - Los Angeles, CA - Globe Theatre Basement
04.15.17 - Oakland, CA - Starline Social Club
