Like a rare comet or Santa himself, Jah Wobble's Invaders of the Heart touch down on Earth for their first show in 20 years

Jah Wobble, the man, the myth, the former London Tube driver (who knew? thanks, press release!) is celebrating 36 years of musical mayhem with a 6-CD box set called ReDux, due in October. The former Public Image Limited bass player and well-regarded solo artist’s collection will feature a Greatest Hits of sorts, plus discs devoted to his excursions into dub/world music, ambient/spoken word, jazz, and of course, post-punk (including PiL stuff). There’s also a new collection of covers and a new single, “Let’s Go Psycho.”

But that’s not all. Wobble has spoken the music geek’s most cherished words: “one-off show.” Yes. He’s bringing early-90s project Invaders of the Heart together for their first show in 20 years at London’s Under the Bridge venue. The band’s debut album Without Judgement burst onto the scene in 1990 and was followed by the Mercury Music Prize-nominated Rising Above Bedlam. After the group’s third album, they stopped playing live… until October 10, when Jah Wobble’s Invaders of the Heart (feat. Aziz Ibrahim) touch down on Earth for an ultra-rare visit.
