Ka (of Dr. Yen Lo) drops new solo album Honor Killed The Samurai, bringing hip-hop a little closer to perfect

This whole “original music” thing? It’s just about over, guys. Brooklyn-based rapper Kaseem “Ka” Ryan (one half of the kinda sorta fucking incredible-ish Dr. Yen Lo) took to the internet this past weekend to announce the release of his fourth solo album, naturally rendering all other musical “striving” completely obsolete in the process.

The album-to-end-all-albums (Ka just mic-dropped on us all with friggin’ zero unnecessary aplomb) is called Honor Killed the Samurai, and it’s OUT RIGHT NOW, digitally via iTunes and as a CD and vinyl via his own website. Now, I’m no music reviewer, but the essayists on iTunes assure me that there are lots of “amazing atmosphere and of course insane lyricism” to be had on this record.

Oh, and there’s also a killer animated video for the album track “Just,” which (although not a Radiohead cover) features some original animation from artist Kyle Samuels. Chiggity-check that shit — as well as the album’s full tracklisting — out down below. And then? Yeah, yeah, I guess close up shop, guys. I mean, we’re good. Hip-hop’s done, right?

Honor Killed the Samurai tracklisting:
