Kanye West says his next album could come out in a few months, new single could drop in two weeks, world could end in less than a day

Let’s face it. Whatever you think of the man and his music, you have to admit that, whenever Kanye West says something about doing something — even if it’s just something kinda off-hand in an interview — people listen up. Possibly because the dude usually, you know, does stuff in a pretty huge way. And also because he habitually says everything about whatever that stuff is that he’s doing IN ALL CAPS and shit.

Case in point: West was hanging out shooting the shit with his pals at GQ magazine recently, and he kinda-sorta mentioned in between self-reflexive epiphanies (“I am a black American male from Chicago […] who had my rehearsal dinner at Versailles and then got married in Florence with a view of the entire city”) that his new album (the follow-up to Yeezus), could be ready as early as September of this year! Further, he states that he might premiere the first song from the new album “in the next couple of weeks.” When you consider that it’s pretty much August right now, we’re talking like weeks here, folks. In fact, if you read the full interview, you’ll note that he was initially hoping to drop the record in June, but he got a little preoccupied doing such terrible, boring-sounding things as “work[ing] on Adidas” and “be[ing] with my child” instead. I know. Ew.

West also went on to say that the single is likely to be “a song that can be in the club like ‘Don’t Like’ or ‘Niggas in Paris’”. I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of secret-hoping that he’s actually being literal there and plans on releasing a cover-version of one of those two songs. Or the Korn song “A.D.I.D.A.S.” That’d be rad too. Either way, though; let’s all stay tuned and hang on his every word, huh?
