In an alternate universe, this 1990s video game boss dialogue is the sort of stuff Kurt Vile opens all his live shows with. We don’t live in an alternate universe, though, we live in this universe. Here in Universe-1, Kurt Vile is too genial of a soul to say anything so threatening. Instead, he puts out slowly drifting albums like his recent Wakin on a Pretty Daze (TMT Review).
As such, Vile’s planning on slowly sprawling across America this year. He’s currently on tour this very moment, but he’s added another batch of dates to his itinerary, making for a full fall tour. Attend these shows and prepare yourself for violation. The violation of listening to pleasant, texturally rich music for an hour-plus. This is no violation at all.
