Liars share new video, free songs, are a bunch of lying liars whose thighs are permanently charred from burning pants

Liars share new video, free songs, are a bunch of lying liars whose thighs are permanently charred from burning pants http://www.tinymixtapes.com/sites/default/files/1305/news-13-05-liars.jpg

Lies:

• Liars are not a band that did not release an album called WIXIW on Mute last year.
• Tiny Mix Tapes did not review the album that Liars did not release last year.
• They are also not a band that is going on a European tour this summer.
• I am not very handsome.

Damned Lies:

• Liars did not see you from a lifeboat as confirmed by the streaming video below.

• Under no circumstances will you be able to download two un-released non-album tracks by Liars by visiting this link and entering your email address. Entering your email at that link will also not enter you into a drawing to receive a piece of free artwork from the members of Liars.
• When I go to the grocery store to buy like, I don’t know, a tomato or something, I am not immediately surrounded by women and men alike who throw themselves at my feet begging to go to dinner with me and “see if there’s a spark.”

Statistics:

• 71% of you are no longer reading this post. Hahaha, suckers, you probably think this section is going to contain a whole bunch of cockamamie nonsense. Well the joke’s on you (them), as the 29% of you who are still reading will soon be able to attest.
• 88% of Americans believe that one human in three is actually a giant space lizard wearing a human suit.
• There are approximately 78.2 million owned dogs in the United States.
• Four out of five dentists agree that my teeth are “astonishing.” The fifth dentist was my ex-wife, so her opinion is totally biased.

Raspberry Bulbs releasing new album on Blackest Ever Black, arguments ensue among genrefication obsessives

What the hell is Raspberry Bulbs? It’s not a punk band, and it’s not a metal band, but it could be some kind of loping, deformed offspring of the two genres. It is important to note that it is certainly not a black metal band. There is screaming here, and riffage, and banging (most any way you can interpret that), all presented in a lovely shade of pink that’s just this side of garish. This calming hue is accompanied by images of monstrosities, religious iconography and naked men. It’s also a solo act, the creative force behind it being one M. del Rio, possibly better know as He Who Crushes Teeth from Bone Awl.

It’s all mixed-up and strange and sends uncomfortable, ticklish messages to previously dormant parts of your brain. Its label pedigree speaks to Raspberry Bulb’s potential, though; its first full-length was on Hospital Productions and its upcoming sophomore album is on Blackest Ever Black. This new piece of possibly fruit-flavored not-black-metal is called Deformed Worship; locate and sign Blackest Ever Black’s “hearing loss waiver,” then check the track “Groping the Angel’s Face” below.

If that is your brand of pain, navigate your now-bleeding audio-receptors over to B.E.B and drop in a pre-order. Also, get some cotton balls and jam them in your ear canals: it will help stop the blood-loss.

Deformed Worship tracklisting:

01. Cracked Flesh
02. Lusty Climbing
03. When a Lie Becomes the Truth
04. Before Man
05. Standing in Line
06. By the Root
07. Groping the Angel’s Face
08. Wild Inside
09. I Was Wrong

Moderat embrace premature aging with new album II; full details announced!

I’ve had an itch in the back of my mind, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t stem from an undiagnosed brain disease. Amorphous though itches may tend to be, this one has a distinct alphanumeric form to it — the letters M-O-D are clearly carved out, as if Modeselektor and Moderat (the former + Apparat) have been engaging in some sort of rhythmic demonry, trying to coax my concerted exploration of their music. Then, once I’ve thoroughly delved, the imprint inside my skull will diminish to a shade, control will be relinquished, and I can go back to lounging around in my undies, content that I’m now fully acquainted with two of Germany’s most talked-about electronic outfits. I keep hearing about them, anyway.

The impulse to delve couldn’t have come at a better time, as Moderat have just announced the full details of their sophomore LP II, due out August 6 on the Modeselektor-run imprint Monkeytown, as well as some celebratory European tourdates around its release. Check out the standard CD tracklist below, though be advised that the album will released in four editions: as a standard CD, deluxe CD, standard LP, and deluxe LP. The deluxe versions differ from their standard counterparts by way of their distinct cover art and (obviously) longer tracklistings, while the tracklistings vary slightly across the CD and vinyl releases.

Recording took six “intense” months, and the trio admit to having “aged about 10 years while making” the album. Crow’s feet be damned!

II tracklisting:

01. The Mark (Interlude)
02. Bad Kingdom
03. Versions
04. Let in the Light
05. Milk
06. Therapy
07. Gita
08. Clouded (Interlude)
09. Ilona
10. Damage Done
11. This Time

Dates:

08.02.13 - London, UK - Eastern Electrics Festival
08.03.13 - Crimea, Ukraine - Kazantip Republic
08.10.13 - Saalburg, Germany - SonneMondSterne
08.11.13 - Hamburg, Germany - Kampnagel
08.17.13 - Amsterdam, Netherlands - Lowlands Festival
08.24.13 - Katowice, Poland - Tauron Nowa Muzyka

Thom Yorke and Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja collaborate on score for tax documentary; “Massive Head” still free for use as a band name

So, there’s an ongoing debate, or peripheral conversation, about which city is the financial capital of the world: New York City or London. If the use of the word “financial” just now caused you to focus intently on the little hairs sprouting above your knuckles, it’s understandable. That shit is boring. There’s an inherent quality within finance and taxes that has the capacity to bore the bejesus out of most people, and some people within the industry are counting on your disinterest in order to screw you royally, as well as the country you’re living in, and probably cute little kittens too.

One such royal screwing happens to involve tax avoidance, whereby those with the means go to sometimes-elaborate measures in order to avoid paying their taxes in full. Some of this is legal. Some of it isn’t. All of it makes you want to smear caviar in a rich person’s face, no?

Adding some intrigue to what otherwise could be considered a dull topic are Thom Yorke and Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, who recently collaborated on the score to The UK Gold, a documentary about the history of tax avoidance, and which follows an English vicar as he embarks “on an odyssey to understand how London remains the financial capital of the world,” according to director Mark Donne. Given their outspokenness on various political issues, Yorke’s and Naja’s involvement shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise. No alarms, either.

The documentary will premiere on June 25 at the Troxy Theatre in London as a part of the East End Film Festival. According to Rolling Stone, a musical performance from a “secret act” is scheduled to immediately follow. Shall we venture a guess?

Pharmakon tours with Swans, offers new track “Ache” for streaming. Is it “super poppy”? Click to find out!

What’s up, manggg!? Thanks for reading! It’s your fav News Donkey, NOBODADDY here, comin’ atcha LIVE from his mo-fuckin’ DESK! All to tell you “hot-off-dem-presses” about a couple-a new bits of Pharmakon newsy-news! Just gotta warn ya in-advance, dog; This. Shit. Is. Too. Hot. Too. H.a.n.d.l.e! Can I get an “Arrrrrrrrroooooooooooooogggggggggaaaaaaaaaaa!”???

Ha. Naw, just kidding. That’s not how I talk. Can you imagine? And this Pharmakon stuff is all pretty normal stuff. It’s just that Margaret Chardiet (“Pharmakon” to people who don’t know her) just got added to a few shows with Michael Gira’s Swans project, and she put up a new track for streaming to celebrate it, that’s all. (Heck, wouldn’t you if you were her? It’s fairly cool news.) Anyway, the new track is called “Ache,” and it comes from her impeccably well-reviewed (I’m not allowed to listen to music at work) album Abandon, which came out recently on Sacred Bones. As for Swans, they’re touring to promote their own (admittedly kinda impressive) still-being Swans. So yeah, I mean, everything’s kosher here. And, you know, as usual, here’s an embedded SoundCloud player with the song stuck in it, followed by those dates I was just talking about. Well, have a good one.

Sincerely,

RIP: Ray Manzarek

From The Doors’ official Facebook page:

Ray Manzarek, keyboardist and founding member of The Doors, passed away today at 12:31PM PT at the RoMed Clinic in Rosenheim, Germany after a lengthy battle with bile duct cancer. He was 74. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his wife Dorothy Manzarek, and his brothers Rick and James Manczarek.

Manzarek is best known for his work with The Doors who formed in 1965 when Manzarek had a chance encounter on Venice Beach with poet Jim Morrison. The Doors went on to become one of the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, selling more than 100-million albums worldwide, and receiving 19 Gold, 14 Platinum and five multi-Platinum albums in the U.S. alone. “L.A.Woman,” “Break On Through to the Other Side,” “The End,” “Hello, I Love You,” and “Light My Fire” were just some of the band’s iconic and ground-breaking songs. After Morrison’s death in 1971, Manzarek went on to become a best-selling author, and a Grammy-nominated recording artist in his own right. In 2002, he revitalized his touring career with Doors’ guitarist and long-time collaborator, Robby Krieger.

“I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend and bandmate Ray Manzarek today,” said Krieger. “I’m just glad to have been able to have played Doors songs with him for the last decade. Ray was a huge part of my life and I will always miss him.”

Manzarek is survived by his wife Dorothy, brothers Rick and James Manczarek, son Pablo Manzarek, Pablo’s wife Sharmin and their three children Noah, Apollo and Camille. Funeral arrangements are pending. The family asks that their privacy be respected at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please make a memoriam donation in Ray Manzarek’s name at www.standup2cancer.org
