Mark Fell to release new LP on Editions Mego, will again sound like robot squirrels chattering away in a dusty static-storm

Erik Wiegand, who we as music snobs know as Errorsmith, works for a fancy little company called Native Instruments making synthesizers for music geeks who spend more time touching circuits than vaginas. One day, Wiegand needed some presets for a new software synthesizer and he asked Mark Fell to make him some.

Long story short: Fell came up with 40 sounds, gave ‘em to Wiegand, and they were ultimately rejected by Native Instruments. So Fell “decided to rework his UL8 project by extending the pattern generating systems used in its construction, which he then connected to the sounds produced in Erik’s synthesizer,” and while that sentence makes my brain hurt, I know that it means that Fell combined a couple projects (including his 40 sounds from earlier) and turned them into his new Manitutshu double 12-inch.

The new single, which sounds like thousands of electric ants exploding at the same time, is set for a May 27 release, comes with a poster, and features a remix from Mat Steel. If you’re curious to know what it sounds like inside of an android’s brain while it has sex, then preorder the record here and check out a track here.
