The Necks’ Chris Abrahams to release solo album on Room40

The Necks' Chris Abrahams to release solo album on Room40

Q: What do you call an experimental pianist with no Necks?
A: A Chris Abrahams solo album.

Chris Abrahams, piano (and anything he can get his hands on) player from TMT’s beloved avant-mavericks The Necks, has just announced that he’ll follow up last year’s Necks excellence Vertigo and this year’s recently announced Necks tour with a solo album called Fluid To The Influence.

The album will be released April 8 via Room40 who reckon that Fluid To The Influence “continues his [Abrahams’] tradition of creating deeply personal and evocative sonic worlds” and “draws together the divergent trends in his music creating a powerful and at times hallucinatory audio-vision.”

One thing is for certain, it’s not going to be hard for Fluid To The Influence to be better than that god awful joke we just opened with. Check out the video for “Receiver” below and purchase here.
